This website is created by friends of Margy Watkins to celebrate her years of living with ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
Margy's first symptom appeared in the summer of 1999 - "a funny little twitching in my left thumb and forefinger." She had been working as the manager of the Farmville, Virginia 5th Congressional District office, not far from her home in Charlotte Courthouse. She thought she had carpal tunnel syndrome, and went to see a neurologist about a week before her 50th birthday.

2009 was a year of celebration! A new President was inaugurated, niece Allison married her Jeff Pillow, we celebrated the lives of the great American writer, Bill Hoffman, and Brigadier General Tracy Gentry, and many of us celebrated our 60th birthdays!

Brian and I had the good fortune to find our way to Charlotte Court House 3 years ago on 4th November. We did not know it was to be our good fortune at the time as we were transported here via the internet. Having explored Portugal and France, as well as England and web browsed homes in Canada, our mouse guided us ever onward. Shennandoah Valley, Richmond, Lynchburg and finally rested on Charlotte Court House.
